Key Competencies:
Interpreting plans and specifications to ascertain measuring requirements
Adjust surveying instruments in order to maintain accuracy
Plan and conduct ground survey designed to establish baselines, elevations and other geodetic measurements
Establish fixed points for use in making maps, using geodetic and engineering instruments
Determine longitudes and latitudes of important features and boundaries in survey areas
Train assistants and helpers, and direct their work in such activities as performing surveys or drafting maps
Must be able to do his own accurate calculations as per drawing
Verify the accuracy of survey data conducted at survey sites
Coordinate work with engineering and architectural personnel
Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines of terrain if required
Computer Skills required: Model Maker, Trimble, Real Works, EasySurv, AgiSoft, Photoscan, Global Mapper, Planet GIS, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Projects is an added advantage.
Qualifications and Experience:
BSc Geomatics/BSc Land Surveying/BTech Surveying professional registration
National Diploma survey technician/technologist
NQF Level 06 Diploma
