Qualification

• Must have a BSc/B.Tech Quantity surveyor Degree
• 3-6 years experience multidisciplinary (Civil’s or building etc) experience
• Must be registered with SACQSP as a Professional Quantity Surveyor (Pr.QS)

Duties

• Facilitate and oversee all Quantity Surveying tasks related to stages 1 to 6 of the project lifecycle, as per standard industry norm and acts.
• Populate lifecycle cost models.
• Assist with procurement/appointment processes, ensuring that all stages including per-qualifications, enquiries, Bills of Quantities, adjudications, awards and contract preparation are performed effectively
• Ensure that project cost variances and change control processes are effectively and pro-actively managed
• Ensure that cost management and valuation work is managed effectively
• Preparation of monthly valuations and cost reports, and presenting same to the client
• Value engineering, risk management and life cycle costing where applicable.
• Formalizing, implementing and administering contractual agreements with suppliers/contractors.
• Ensure compliance to contractual terms and conditions.
• Assessment of contractual claims and disputes.
• Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed timeously.
